When a website is compromised (i.e. hacked), Google will flag the website in Safe Browsing.
It may flag as malware infected website, harmful download/unwanted software, and social engineering (e.g. phishing)
To bulk scan the website content, we make use of Google Safe Browsing API to check multiple URL at the same time.
